ARGUMENT PAPER

ABORTION IS ......





   In America, more than 1.5 million children are murdered each 
year by a medical practice called abortion.  In 1972 the Supreme 
Court relaxed or repealed legislation which in previous years 
made abortion illegal.  Since then millions of would be Americans 
suffered an early unneeded death.

   What a paradox it is that the majority of those people who 
advocate abortion rights are the same ones who are most sensitive 
to liberal issues like the "Rain Forests" or the "Spotted Owls".  
When it comes down to preserving the human species these liberals 
are the first ones to scream that women have a civil right to 
choose weather they want to kill their baby's or not.  The rights 
of the trees, endangered animals or even convicted murderers on 
death row, seems more important to these liberals than the rights 
of unborn baby's.  The argument that abortion is a fundamental 
women's right is just a 'sorry plot' to get the majority of women 
who are not likely to kill their baby's to go along with this 
misguided premiss.  The intentions are admirable.  To gain 
equality and respect for women around the world is a good goal, 
but unfortunately one of the means to this end is fighting for 
abortion rights.

   As a man, I could not respect a women who had or would have 
an abortion.  Reasonable women know deep down in their heart what 
a lie abortion really is.  The women I talked to all agree that 
the guilt of killing a child is a tremendously painful experience 
which they hope none of their fellow sisters ever have to go 
through.  It takes a lifetime to get over the emotional scars.  I 
have known some women who have aborted their children and they 
deeply regret making this terribly wrong choice.  I also know 
women who hated the lies spread by the pro abortion people from 
day one.  These friends of mine I truly respect, they are making 
a firm stand for a better cause.  Its not easy to make a stand on 
prolife when the whole world is so much against it.  

   Never the less abortion is wrong.  It is wrong because it 
denies someone's right to life.  Life is the greatest treasure 
anyone can have or take away from someone else!  Not only that, 
but there are many families in america who cannot have children 
of their own.  These people would be delighted to adopt someone's 
unwanted child.

   The next fetus terminated may be someone like another John 
KENNEDY, John LENNON or Mother TERESA.  The world will never find 
out because they never had a chance to fulfill their mission for 
humanity.  Everyone contributes to humanity in their own tiny or 
magnificent way.

   Women must find another issue to use as a vehicle to gain 
respect and express their desires for equality.  Fighting for 
abortion rights is definitely a mistake.  Women will not achieve 
their ultimate goal by winning this argument, what they win is 
their souls full of pain.
